Are you a major fan of powerboat racing? Yeah, so are we. The 10th Annual Super Boat Great Lakes Prix is upon us and powerboat racing fans and teams are coming together for what is sure to be an action-packed weekend on the water. The event promises a great show, with nice weather in the forecast and fans already teeming with excitement.
“It’s always nice to make it back up to the Midwest where many of our most loyal fans are based. We’re working with some great sponsors this year including the wonderful Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa where we will host our awards ceremony,” says John Carbonell, former powerboat racer and president of Super Boat International. “We are looking forward to some nice weather and a great event that everyone will enjoy!”
The grand prix is scheduled to take place August 3-5, with a final race worth twice the amount of point value in the finale on August 5th. Though the race itself will be taking place in Michigan City, Ind., the event will be streamed for free on the Super Boat Live Stream channel.
The races will include twenty teams who will face off at the Great Lakes in preparation for the Key West World Championships in November. The grand prix will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 2nd, with registration beginning the next morning. Saturday will include a host of local events, including a beach volleyball tournament, vintage car show, and more, while Sunday is the big day - the day of the races.
Make sure not miss out on the fun, even if you are following the event at a distance by live streaming!
