Harbor Centre Marina is the perfect stop for Great Lakes boaters exploring Lake Michigan. The marina is something of a paradise, sitting peacefully on the shores of Sheboygan, Wis., a city that’s been playfully nicknamed the Malibu of the Midwest due to its beautiful beaches.

With well over 200 slips, Harbor Centre Marina doesn’t know what it’s like to have a shortage of spaces for boaters wanting to come and visit. They’re big enough that they don’t have to block anything off just for transient boaters since there’s generally availability on all their docks.
“We don’t have to put transients apart on their own dock,” explained Michaela, “so they can interact with and get to know our seasonal boaters too.”
The marina itself is also fun to explore with its gorgeous setting and ample amenities. They’re right by the lighthouse, so you can literally walk right up to it and touch it, and it’s next to a beautiful park setting that has a landscaped picnic area that comes complete with gas grills.
You’ll also be able to hang out in the plush boaters’ lounge or go for a game of tennis since you’ll have court access.
Did we mention there’s also a private swimming pool and whirlpool? Because there is.
Of course, you’ll also have all the regular necessities right at your fingertips as well, like the coin-operated laundry facility, clean showers and restrooms, Wi-Fi, and boat parts. There’s even a fish cleaning station for all you anglers out there. You’ll have all this while still being within walking distance to the Riverfront and downtown shopping area.
Food Frenzy
Speaking of Downtown Sheboygan, you’re not going to want to miss the food scene they’ve got going on down there. We’re talking about everything from delectable entrees to gourmet chocolate.
“Our dining is very known all over,” added Michaela. “People come just for the food.”
One such restaurant you won’t want to miss is Legend Larry’s. This casually phenomenal place is home to national award-winning wings. Then you’ll probably want to finish the night off with some homemade chocolate from the Victorian Chocolate Shoppe. This place offers over 80 varieties of hand-dipped chocolates that are out-of-this-world delicious.
Tee Time
Don’t forget your golf clubs because Sheboygan is also famous for being one of the top golf destinations in the world. There are plenty of golf courses from which to choose in the area, but one you won’t want to miss is the Whistling Straits.
Not only is this simply a gorgeous course, but it’s also famous for hosting the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Championships on three separate occasions and the U.S. Senior Open in 2007. Additionally, it’s slated as the future site of the 2020 Ryder Cup. So if you feel like trying your hand on a course where professionals go to compete, this golf course fits the bill.
