Paddleboarders Making A Difference

January 2019 Feature Web Exclusive

Jeff Guy and four friends were the first team of paddleboarders to make the 60-mile trek across Lake Michigan. But, that isn’t the coolest fact about their adventure across Lake Michigan.

The team decided to dedicate their trip to bringing awareness to all the environmental issues that plague the Great Lakes by taking a stand on their paddleboards. As of 2016, the group had raised almost $8,000 to help benefit Alliance for the Great Lakes, a nonprofit that’s dedicated to cleaning up the pollution in our lakes and preserving them for future generations.
