MILWAUKEE (July 30, 2015) – Yacht Blast for Kids – southeastern Wisconsin’s premier private fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin – returns on August 15, 2015 for its 7th year of lifting the spirits of children and granting wishes through After Blast.   As part of Yacht Blast for Kids, Wish children and their families will join Milwaukee yacht owners at the Milwaukee Yacht Club for an afternoon of fun and sun when they take a boat ride on Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River. When the sun sets, the public is invited to support Yacht Blast for Kids and Make-A-Wish® with After Blast, an entertainment-packed celebration, including fireworks sponsored by Bartolotta Fireworks, aimed to raise funds to support the organization’s wish granting efforts.   “Since its beginning, Yacht Blast has had a tremendous impact on the children and their families, helping to grant over 100 wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses,” said Glenn Kennedy, founder of Yacht Blast for Kids. “Not only do we give the ‘Wish’ children an opportunity to have fun on the water, but we are able to contribute to Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin to grant their wishes through proceeds from the After Blast party and our generous sponsors.”   The After Blast event, located at the Milwaukee Yacht Club, is open to the public from 4 to 11 p.m. Guests can participate in both silent and voice auctions – featuring a Diamond Bar by Lyle Husar Designs and delectable food by the Milwaukee Yacht Club with all proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin. Additionally, guests can enjoy live music from local artists Live at Nine, Jeff Walski and American Idol star Naima Adedapo.   “For me, Yacht Blast for Kids is more than just providing an afternoon boat ride for Wish children and their families,” said Steve Gougé, a boat owner participating in this year’s event. “It’s about learning from these families about their strength throughout difficult times and gaining inspiration as we lift their spirits throughout the afternoon. I’m grateful to be involved with an event like this.”   General Admission tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Dinner packages are $50.   For more information on the event, to purchase tickets or to make a donation, visit www.yachtblastforkids.com.
