CHICAGO, Ill. – Representatives of the eight states and two provinces that border the Great Lakes ended two days of hearings today without deciding whether the city of Waukesha, Wis., should be allowed to pull up to 16 million gallons of water a day from Lake Michigan. The members of the eight-state Great Lakes Water Resources Compact tabled the request, and decided to finalize a draft recommendation by May 2, and to meet again May 10 for a final vote.
