The Marina at Harbor Shores Resort in St Joseph, Mich., is truly amazing.
As part of a larger community called the Harbor Village, this marina neighbors the Inn at Harbor Shores and the Spa at Harbor Shores, granting access to all the plenteous amenities the village has to offer. The community is further complemented by a gorgeous setting with scenic beaches and panoramic views of Lake Michigan’s sparkling waters. Not to mention, it’s one of the oldest harbors in the Great Lakes
Once you dock here, you’ll never want to go home.
Many Amenities
The Marina at Harbor Shores can be found on the north side of the St. Joseph River, just east of the M-63 Bridge. The 60 slips they have available all come equipped with power, water, a lockbox and complementary Wi-Fi.
“We have a lot more amenities than other local marinas,” shared Brady Cohen, the general manager of the Marina at Harbor Shores. “All the boaters get access to the indoor pool, the outdoor pool, the indoor/outdoor hot tub as well as the Tiki bar that sits outside.”
Cohen also explained they are the only marina in the area with floating docks, which draws a lot of people who need a place to keep their boats. Then not only do you get to enjoy a first-class marina with deep water access to Lake Michigan, but you also gain access to the Inn at Harbor Shores with all the perks that come with a luxury resort. Whether you’re staying for dinner or for the weekend, the Marina at Harbor Shores welcomes you to broadside dockage.
The Marina at Harbor Shores is also home to the Freedom Boat Club. If you join the club, you get to book reservations for their boats in various locations then return them when you’re done. It’s all the boating fun without having to worry about maintenance and upkeep.
Eats And Treats
One of the best parts of docking at the Marina at Harbor Shores is all the tasty cuisines you get to enjoy while being dazzled by the waterfront views.
“We’ve got three waterfront food and beverage outlets,” added Cohen. “There’s Plank’s Tavern, Torch & Tapas, and then our dockside bar. So you can eat your food right on the water.”
Life really doesn’t get much better than eating scrumptious food on Lake Michigan’s shore. Plank’s Tavern takes much of its inspiration from the history of the harbor, grounding itself in good ol’ fashioned American entrees that celebrate agriculture and their wonderful location on the water’s edge.
“We also have Rise & Vine,” noted Cohen. “That’s our coffee and wine bar that guests have access to as well. It sells all kinds of sundries and snacks.”
Rise & Vine is one of the newest amenities at the Inn at Harbor Shores, and it offers freshly brewed coffee for your days and sophisticated wines for your evenings. No matter the hour, Rise & Vine will always have something perfect to dazzle your taste buds.
Great Golf Course
Harbor Shores is also a popular golf destination and draws professional and die-hard golfers from around the world. Nestled in the heart of the Harbor Shores community is the Jack Nicklaus Signature public golf course which is famous for hosting one of golf’s premier events: the Senior Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Championship presented by KitchenAid.
The golf course recently hosted this major championship this last May where Paul Broadhurst received his second career senior major victory with the best final-round score by a winner in the Championship. Harbor Shores’ golf course hosted the championships in 2012, 2014 and 2016 as well, and as of right now, it’s also scheduled to host the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in 2020, 2022 and 2024.
It’s pretty neat to think that when you play on the Nicklaus Signature public golf course, you’re playing where champions have played. But don’t let that intimidate you! This golf course welcomes everybody from the experts to the beginners.
Awesome Atmosphere
Overall, the Marina at Harbor Shores presents a luxurious atmosphere with its top-notch facility, decadent treats and complimentary amenities. Cohen has worked at the marina for the past three years and he loves hearing how his guests have enjoyed their stays.
“The guests love it,” attested Cohen. “Their good experiences are what keep them coming back.”
The staff at the Marina at Harbor Shores do everything they can to make their guests’ vacations the best they can be. They even have live music about four times a week so you can let loose and party or relax and enjoy the rhythm. All in all, the Marina at Harbor Shores is a destination you won’t want to miss.
“We have a great staff and we do everything in our power to make our guests return year after year,” assured Cohen.
