DNR improving Kiddie Fishing Pond at Willow Slough FWA

Indiana DNR Kiddie Fishing Pond at the Willow Slough Fish & Wildlife Area campground is undergoing improvements to make fishing better. The pond has filled with silt over the years, contributing to winter fish kills. The project will involve draining and dredging the pond and removing nongame fish. The pond and surrounding area are closed until work is complete, and is slated to re-open next spring when natural rainfall will fill the lake to normal levels. Once this occurs, bluegill, largemouth bass and channel catfish will be stocked. Read the full story.
