TOWER — Fishing of the popular brook trout in northeastern Minnesota will be greatly affected for at least three years.
The Department of Natural Resources is changing how it stocks trout in the Tower, Grand Marais and Finland areas.
The agency’s trout stocking patterns are being affected by disinfection and recertification procedures at the state’s Crystal Springs Hatchery near Altura in southeastern Minnesota.
