PULTNEYVILLE — What lies beneath Lake Ontario could soon be getting some federal protection — and proponents say it could result in an increase of underwater explorers there.
The county is one of four shoreline governments — Wayne, Oswego, Cayuga and Jefferson counties — seeking a National Marine Sanctuary Designation, Amy D’Angelo, a senior planner/grant administrator, told the Wayne County Board of Supervisors’ Economic Development and Planning Committee Wednesday.
