Mobile app lets Great Lakes anglers share needed data with biologists

By Dan O'Keefe, Michigan State University Extension, Michigan Sea Grant Mich.--The Great Lakes Angler Diary web-based app allows anglers on the Great Lakes to be "citizen scientists" and help fill in knowledge gaps about the lakes. The app enables anglers to input data about their catch--species identification, location, size, etc.--which in turn contributes information that scientists can use to improve Great Lakes fisheries management.
