The secretary of the Canadian Lighthouses of Lake Superior announced that two students will be hired to be lighthouse keepers on Porphyry Island this summer. The pair will spend July and August greeting visitors, doing some yard work and maintenance on the buildings, and experiencing the many moods of Lake Superior.
