World's rarest classic boats make maiden voyage to Upper Midwest

The world’s most passionate antique boat enthusiasts will soon converge – bringing together hundreds of the rarest classic wooden boats in existence and attracting 10,000 spectators to the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Amid a revived interest in handcrafted, authentic heritage products has come renewed interest in classic wooden boats – from all generations. The best of the best will be on display at the Antique & Classic Boat Society's International Boat Show, a full week of curated events that kicks off with 100 of the world’s most coveted classic boats hitting Lake Minnetonka, near Minneapolis, Minn., on September 19th. To gain an idea of the rare, stunning boats that will lure thousands of spectators from across the country, take a look at these photos and check out this teaser video. After Minnetonka, boat enthusiasts will venture north for several days of touring Northern Minnesota’s breathtaking lakes. The program culminates with a grand event – a competitive boat show held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26, at the docks of Bar Harbor on Gull Lake.
