Forty-nine years ago, a group called Clear Water Inc. came together to advocate for a cleaner Maumee River and Lake Erie.
Through Clear Water Inc.’s efforts and those of others, Congress enacted the Clean Water Act in 1972.
Now, a half-century later, a group claiming inheritance is forming to take on the threat of harmful algae blooms in Lake Erie.
