CHEBOYGAN CO. -- You can join the effort to help protect a threatened fish species in Michigan by becoming a sturgeon guard.
According to Michigan Department of Natural Resources, every spring mature lake sturgeon become vulnerable to poaching as they leave Black Lake for a short period of time for spawning sites in the Black River.
