Kaptur seeks to curtail Lake Erie open lake dumping

U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Toledo, is stepping up the pressure on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers over open lake dumping.

Kaptur, a member of the  House Appropriations Committee, has put language in a new appropriations bill that essentially bans the corps from dumping dredged materials into Lake Erie unless state officials approve the dumping.
