Just before Ashland received its first dusting of snow, the National Parks Service (NPS) wrapped up summer initiatives for the $3.5 million cultural site restoration project on five of the Apostle Islands with a prescribed burn on Devils Island.
Planning for the cultural site restoration project in the Apostle Islands started back in 2009.
