file0001177027870News-Sentinel staff report Good news for Lake Erie: Two new efforts should improve water quality in the lake's algae-plagued western basin. On Wednesday, the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Council voted to certify three northwest Ohio businesses in the 4Rs approach, which is designed to reduce fertilizer pollution in streams and lakes.
