Mercury Marine is partnering up with Westrec Marinas and Chicago Harbors as the title sponsor of Aquapalooza 2014 on August 9 at the 31st Street Harbor in Chicago. The event, which is the first-ever floating music festival in Chicago, will be headlined by Al Jardine & The Endless Summer Band.
“We have always maintained a good relationship with Westrec Marinas and Chicago Harbors so when they approached us about Aquapalooza, we jumped at the opportunity,” said Mercury Marine Vice President of Sales and Marketing Randy Caruana. “Being a part of this event will allow the Mercury brand to be displayed in front of a large audience on Lake Michigan in the third largest city in the United States – a city flush with boaters.” The Chicago Harbors will turn the southern end of the marina into the city’s largest on-water party. Many models from the Brunswick boat group will be on display such as SeaRay, Boston Whaler and more. In addition, hundreds of boats will be powered by Mercury Marine engines setting the stage for a perfect evening in the Windy City. “Mercury Marine is the most powerful marine technology company in the world,” said Westrec Marinas Executive Vice President Scott Stevenson. “We want to showcase our event as the premier on-water event in Chicago and a partnership with a global company like Mercury is a great boost for our event. Their reputation for reliability and durability mimics the mantra of our great city and we are honored to have them on board for Aquapalooza 2014.” The event runs from 2 p.m. - 11 p.m. CDT at the 31st Street Harbor.
