LANSING - Today event organizers at the Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art (MICA) announced new details around the inaugural Grand American FishRodeo, a brand new summer event that will be held along the shores of the Grand River in Lansing June 12-14.
“All of us at MICA are looking forward to seeing the weather warm up, and creating a unique, exciting summer event,” said Terry Terry, co-founder and president of MICA. “The inaugural Grand American FishRodeo will be a celebration of the Great Lakes’ rich heritage of gratitude for our rivers, lakes, and aquatic life, and our equally rich tradition of creativity and self-expression.”
The inaugural Grand American FishRodeo will include:
several fishing tournament events, with fantastic prizes,
boat rides and a boat parade on the Grand River,
a fishy fashion show,
a fish derby,
a fish tattoo contest,
a writing contest,
and finally, several ethnic music and country music acts with fans all over the state and region.
Organizers are looking forward to creating this one of a kind, all-new grand event this summer.
